Veritas Wallet Trust Score is a security metric that helps you see potential risks associated with your wallet's activity. A low score indicates interactions or approvals that might expose your funds. This guide explains how the score is calculated and what you can do to improve it.

How Your Score is Calculated

We analyze your wallet's recent transactions and active token approvals to determine its score.

Transactions

We review your last 100 token or NFT transfers. Your score is reduced if these transactions involve:

  • Spam or Unverified Tokens: An ERC-20 token is flagged as potential spam or comes from an unverified contract.
  • Low-Security Tokens: An ERC-20 token has a poor security score.
  • Spam or Unverified NFTs: An NFT is marked as potential spam or is not part of a verified collection.

Approvals

Token approvals are a primary source of risk. We only reduce your score for approvals if you have funds currently at risk (the token's value is greater than $0). The following approvals lower your score:

  • Risky Token Approvals: Approvals granted to unverified or spam contracts.
  • Infinite Allowances: You allowed a smart contract to spend an unlimited amount of your tokens.
  • Large Allowances: The approved amount is large compared to your current token balance.
  • Old Approvals: You have active approvals that are very old and have not been revoked.

How to Improve Your Score

You can directly raise your wallet trust score by managing your wallet's approvals and being careful with your transactions.

1. Clean Up Your Token Approvals

Reviewing and revoking unnecessary approvals is the fastest way to increase your Trust Score.

  • Revoke Old Approvals: If you no longer use an application, revoke its permission to access your tokens.
  • Cancel Infinite Approvals: Instead of granting infinite access, set specific spending limits for dApps. Revoke any existing infinite approvals and grant new ones with a fixed amount if needed.
  • Remove Suspicious Approvals: Immediately revoke permissions for any contracts you don't recognize or for tokens flagged as risky.

2. Practice Safe Transactions

Your transaction history affects your score, so adopt safer habits going forward.

  • Verify Before Interacting: Before trading a new token or NFT, check that its contract is verified and has a good security rating.
  • Ignore Spam Airdrops: Do not interact with random tokens or NFTs that appear in your wallet from unknown sources. Selling or transferring them still creates a transaction record that can lower your score.
  • Transact Safely: As you make new, secure transactions, older risky ones will eventually fall outside the 100 most recent transactions we analyze, which will naturally improve your score over time.

Your Wallet Trust Score is a tool for managing your on-chain security. By regularly cleaning your approvals and verifying what you interact with, you can protect your assets and maintain a higher score.
